Geoengineering still faces major practical challenges

Solar geoengineering — the idea of scattering reflective particles into the atmosphere to counteract warming — is far more technically fraught than its emergency-brake reputation suggests. MIT Technology Review's examination finds the engineering obstacles remain largely unsolved, from particle dispersal at scale to unintended regional climate effects.
